Minaret, Hidirlik Tower: Kaleici is a small historic part of Antalya’s
modern city, also known as the Old City of Antalya. In history it was once the
sprawling modern Roman town, then the Byzantine Empire, then Seljuks, and
finally the Ottoman Turkish town. Hadrian’s Gate, also known as the
Three Gates, is one of Antalya’s most iconic landmarks — a
magnificent triumphal arch built in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Another
must-see is the city’s famous Broken Minaret, part of
the Korkut Mosque. Originally constructed as a
Roman temple in the 2nd century AD, this ancient structure has witnessed
centuries of transformation - from temple to church to mosque - and its broken
minaret stands today as a silent symbol of Antalya’s rich and layered history.. Hidirlik Tower is one of Antalya’s most striking landmarks,
standing proudly at the point where Kaleici, the city’s
historic old town, meets Karaalioglu Park. Built
of warm tawny stone, the tower is believed to date back to the Hellenistic
period, originally constructed on a square base and later
transformed into a circular tower in the 2nd century AD.
Throughout its long history, it is thought to have served as either a fortification
or a lighthouse, watching over the turquoise
waters of the Mediterranean. There will be local lunch break
during the tour than move on to visitng Duden Waterfalls. All the streams in
the region flow toward the Mediterranean Sea, cascading down the slopes
of the Taurus Mountains — sometimes above ground, sometimes through
hidden underground channels. Along their journey, they create a series of beautiful
waterfalls, more than twenty in total, each offering a refreshing glimpse
of Antalya’s natural beauty. End of the transfer to hotel and rest of the day is yours. Dinner and Overnight
