This 11-day itinerary through Bolivia
combines wine and traditional beverage tastings with cultural and scenic tours
of the country's main regions. It begins in Santa Cruz with a city tour and the
wine route in Samaipata, including wine and coffee tastings. It continues in
Tarija, the wine-growing epicenter, visiting renowned wineries and the Chapaca
countryside. Then it goes through Cochabamba, with a city tour and chicha
tasting in the Valle Alto. The trip continues to La Paz, exploring the Valley
of the Moon, the cable car, and the historic center. It ends with an
unforgettable experience in the Salar de Uyuni, including sunset with wine in
the salt flats, before returning to La Paz and leaving the country.

Samaipata
La Paz
We will depart for the Land Sua winery for our first wine tasting, enjoying the surrounding landscapes. We will continue to Samaipata for lunch. Afterwards, we will head to the Uvairenda vineyard for another wine tasting. On the way back, we will make a final stop at the Coffe caves, where we will see the coffee plantations, the roasting process, and the final product, which we will taste. Return to Santa Cruz.
A relaxed day in Santa Cruz to enjoy the city at your own pace before continuing the journey south. In the evening, we board our flight to Tarija, Bolivia’s most renowned wine region, where vineyard landscapes, high-altitude wines, and a new chapter of flavors and traditions begin to unfold.
We will explore the charm of the streets and villages of Tarija. We will head to the village of San Lorenzo, a picturesque colonial-style village known for being the home of “Moto Mendez,” a historical figure in the country, whose house is now the main attraction of the village. We will continue to the Corceles de Mendez Winery for a final wine tasting in Tarija.
In the morning, we take our flight to Cochabamba and explore the city. We walk around the Main Square, which is surrounded by religious and civil buildings, and continue along the Paseo del Prado and the Plaza de las Banderas. We stop at the Cochabamba sign and our last stop will be the Cristo de La Concordia, a large sculpture 40 meters high that is one of the most iconic attractions in the country.
Today we venture into the Valle Alto region of Cochabamba, where tradition is preserved through flavors and ancestral techniques. Here, we discover the cultural importance of “chicha,” a fermented corn beverage deeply rooted in local identity. We learn about its preparation process and enjoy a tasting experience that connects us directly with the authentic spirit of the region.
We take our flight to La Paz. Arrival in the city and transfer to the hotel. We will head to the Valley of the Moon, a beautiful geological formation located near the city that resembles a lunar landscape. Upon arrival, we will take a 15- to 20-minute walk. After the tour, we will board our transport to head to the cable car station. After the visit, we board our transport to go to the cable car station. During this trip, we will enjoy incredible views of the city built between mountains. Then we will head to Plaza Murillo, where the country's political establishments and the Government Palace are located. We continue to Calle de las Brujas, a street where amulets and esoteric objects related to the Andean worldview and culture are sold. At the end of the tour, we return to the hotel. Our next flight is to Salar de Uyuni. Once at our destination, we begin our adventure with a stop at the Train Cemetery, an unusual landscape of disused locomotives. We continue to the town of Colchani, where salt is processed using traditional methods, and visit a salt processing plant. We enter the Salar de Uyuni and stop at Incahuasi Island. From its summit, surrounded by giant cacti, we can appreciate the surprising expanse of the salt sea and see the majestic Tunupa volcano. We will then enjoy lunch in the middle of the salt flat. We will visit the Playa Blanca hotel-museum, the Dakar monument, and the Plaza de las Banderas. Finally, we will watch the sunset in the middle of the salt flat while enjoying a glass of wine.
We take our flight back to La Paz, returning to its dramatic mountain scenery and vibrant Andean atmosphere. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own rhythm—wander through colorful streets, shop for unique handicrafts, revisit your favorite spots, or simply soak in the final impressions of this extraordinary city.
