Visit Tsavo East mostly flat, open savannah with dry plains and the Galana River running through it. Famous for large herds of red-dust elephants. Home to Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow. Notable wildlife includes lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and many bird species. Easier to spot wildlife due to its open landscape.
Tsavo West which is more mountainous and wetter than Tsavo East, with volcanic hills, springs, and lava flows. Mzima Springs, where hippos and crocodiles can be viewed through underwater observation chambers. Scenic landscapes including Chyulu Hills and ancient lava fields. Denser vegetation makes game viewing more challenging but rewarding.
