You will be met by our representative at your hotel in Nairobi and be transferred to the airport for your 08:00h flight to Masai Mara where you will met by our driver guide at the airstrip. Game drive enroute to the camp/lodge. Lunch at the Lodge, thereafter proceed for an afternoon game drive. Wherever you go in the Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, spotted hyena, topis, impala, wildebeest and many more. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, head out towards the Mara River for full a day game drive. The great wildebeest migration will be the highlight of this day (Jul-Sep). Carry picnic lunch boxes to have lunch by Mara River. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Early morning balloon safari can also be arranged (extra cost)
The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive Cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During our stay we also have an optional opportunity(extra cost) to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
After breakfast, check out and head for the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi at 11:15hrs. Here we find the Old Africa of the movies, with rolling grasslands dotted by acacia trees and sweeping plains teeming with wildlife. No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more than you expected—and the ideal backdrop for a hot air balloon expedition.
Elewana Sand river Mara is located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, within the Masai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. It's an ideal destination, at any time of the year, for those wishing to enjoy exceptional game-viewing. It comprises of 16-tented accommodations - including 1 family tent - each divided into two separate but adjoining campsites, with each area possessing its own designated dining and public areas, thereby creating an increased sense of exclusivity and privacy.
