Be excited to experience Uganda’s most visited National Park known as Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to over 95 mammal species and more than 650 bird species. Your safari highlight will unfold in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as you trek through dense forests to get your first sight on the mountain gorillas which is a once in a life time experience.

Meet your driver guide for a briefing about your safari and hit the road for your drive to Lake Mburo National Park lasting for about 4 and a half hours. Along the way, you will make a stopover at the equator line in Kayabwe to experience where the earth is divided into two equal parts stepping your feet both in the northern and southern hemispheres. You will have enough time to take photos after which you will proceed to the Park and check-in at your lodge for your lunch. After lunch you will head off for a boat cruise along Lake Mburo where you will spot several animals as they come to quench their thirst. Schools of hippopotamuses and water birds will be seen all over the place as well as several crocodiles basking along the Lake’s shores. This activity lasts for about 2 hours after which you will return to your lodge with an en-route game drive to experience animals that thrive in the Park’s savannah grasslands. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Wakeup very early for your breakfast and proceed for a game drive where you will be able to catch-up with the Park’s animals such as towers of giraffes, large herds of buffaloes, impalas, zebras, topis, elands, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, leopards to mention but a few. Several bird species will be spotted as well like pied kingfishers, bare-faced go-away bird, red-faced barbet, cisticola, long-crested eagle, yellow-ramped tinker bird and many more. Get back to your lodge for lunch, checkout and proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in the evening as you have an en-route game viewing experience along your drive to the lodge. Enjoy your scrumptious breakfast today morning and head out for a game viewing experience through the Park’s Kasenyi plains as you lookout for vast animal species such as elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, topis, Uganda kobs, lions, leopards, jackals, civets, genets to mention but a few. This National Park is a home to over 650 bird species and you are guaranteed of spotting savannah birds roam the grasslands. Have an early lunch at the lodge and checkout to be whisked to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park renowned for housing half of the world’s remaining gorilla population. You will have an en-route drive through the Ishasha plains to spot tree-climbing lions go about their routine lifestyle. Arrival will be in the evening to check-in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Today have your hefty breakfast served very early in the morning, have your lunch packed and report to the Park headquarters where you will be briefed by UWA ranger guides on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Trekking through the Park’s dense forests lasts for about 2 to 6 hours and finding the gorillas in their natural setting will eventually make you forget about strenuous hikes you have made through dense bushes and steep slopes. A magical hour will be allowed for you to have ample time with the gorillas as you capture enough pictures of them go by their usual activities not forgetting to follow your ranger’s directives. Return to your lodge for an entire afternoon lazing before you head off for a cultural experience within the Batwa communities where you will learn about their ancient lifestyle, traditions, cultural values and many others. Dance to their tradition music before getting back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Arise to a relaxed breakfast checkout and meet your driver guide for a long and scenic drive back to Kampala. Along your way, you will have your first stopover in Mbarara for lunch after which you will embark on your drive with your second stopover at the equator line in Kayabwe. Here you may decide to take more pictures on top of what you might have taken on day one and purchase some souvenirs as well as Ugandan coffee to take with you home. You will be arriving in the evening to either be dropped off at a hotel of your choice for relaxation or straight to the airport to catch-up with your flight back home.
