Itinerary

Day 1

As you take the flight of your life to the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, you will enjoy the beautiful view of the Himalayan ranges at rare.

The landing of the aircraft at Paro International Airport is yet another thrilling and breathtaking moment.

 Paro is the gateway to Bhutan, home to the only international airport.

 This is where you begin the journey to the land of happiness.

After visa formalities and collection of baggage, you will be greeted by our guide and chauffeur at the terminal.

On the first day, we will drive you to Thimphu, The capital of Bhutan.

On the way you will get a glimpse of the crystal clear rivers and take a brief stop at the temple, crossing through an old cantilever bridge.

You will be greeted by the gigantic Buddha statue of 169 ft. overlooking Thimphu city.

The panoramic view of the whole of Thimphu city and hills never fails to cease the viewer's eyes.

Day 2

Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan, it combines a natural small-town feel with a new commercial exuberance that constantly challenges the country's natural conservatism and Shangri La image.

Thimphu has some cafes, bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. Finding a balance between the esoteric and espresso – the old and the new – is the key to getting the most out of this charming city.

Today's place of attraction:

-> Kuenselphodrang Nature Park

-> Tashichhodzong -Fort

-> Takin mini zoo

-> 12 arts & craft school

Day 3

 After breakfast, you will be driving to Punakha - the old capital.

You will be greeted with glorious views of snow-capped mountains and the scenic beauty of Dochula Pass.

Dochula Pass lies mid-way to Punakha from Thimphu at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea level. The pass is a popular location among tourists as it offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range.

After reaching Punakha, you will visit the famous fertility temple walk around the rice fields, and giggle at the paintings of Phallus on the traditional Bhutanese houses. Your guide will share a lot of stories of the divine madman, who visited Bhutan in the 14th century from Tibet.

After lunch, you will be visiting the magnificent and tranquil Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, which sits atop a hill and commands the view of the gorgeous Punakha Valley and Wangduephodrang Valley.

Standing amidst the lush pine trees, this structure is a beautiful

demonstration of the fine architecture and tradition of Bhutan.

Your guide will take you to visit Punakha Dzong (fort) also known as the Palace of bliss.

Before reaching there, you will find some fine spots, where you can take a panoramic picture of the fort for your #picoftheday collection

Day 4

We will be driving to Phobjikha today and the drive will be around 3 hours from Punakha.

As drive down the valley, you will see many yak herders camp and nomad

families at work. This place is also a paradise for bird lovers.

.

The valley of Gangtey is truly magnificent and a peaceful place and many call it the Shangri la of Bhutan.

With a panoramic view of the valley and beautiful fauna especially during the spring, it’s a true Shangri la.

When winter starts, Rare species of Black Necked Crane fly from Tibet to Gangtey and they even have a black-necked crane festival that starts around mid-November.

You can also visit the Royal Society for Protection of Nature, also known as The Crane Centre, which displays material on the cranes.

Since Phobjikha is quite cold compared to other places, a herbal hot stone bath here will be a treat for you letting you soak in joy & be relived of all the stress & aches in your body.

Day 5

The historical town of Paro lies at the center of a valley rich in sacred sites and ancient buildings and forms part of the core of exceptional destinations in Bhutan.

Home to the only international airport in the country, this pretty destination is covered with terraced paddy fields and quaint farmhouses scattered throughout the valley in the lower areas.

In the upper reaches, coniferous forests look down onto the beautiful Paro Chhu River, which snakes its way below.

Today we will be driving to Paro which is around 3 and half hours drive from Punakha.

Get ready to be transported back in time as your guide takes you on a journey to visit some of the most majestic and historically significant sites in Bhutan.

You will be stopping over at Lamperi botanical park, which has a huge collection of Rhododendron flowers, and stroll around the lake amid nature.

After reaching Paro Valley, you can stroll around the quaint town or visit Ta Dzong, a watchtower built in 1649 to protect the undefended Dzong, and later renovated in 1968 to house the National Museum.

Here, you will get a glimpse into Bhutan's rich cultural heritage as you browse through the fascinating collection of artifacts, paintings, and textiles.

Day 6

Today is the big day, hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest.

No trip in Bhutan would be complete without the hike to Tigers Nest monastery.

Shrouded in mystery and myths with stories of numerous miracles associated with the monastery.

From great saints to famous Hollywood celebrities, not to forget the Prince of England to the Princess of Japan have hiked to witness the hidden beauty of this icon of Bhutan, which is perched at the edge of a cliff at 3120m above sea level.

The hike to the temple is an awe-inspiring journey that will amaze you with its beauty and charm.

With glorious views of Paro Valley amid the hike to the entrance of the monastery with alluring waterfalls is a treat for you and your camera for a #picoftheday Instagram post.
