Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at José Marti Airport with AIRLINE XXXX at XX:XX hrs. Meet & greet at the airport arrival hall by your English-speaking guide and private transfer to your hotel in Havana. Accommodation with breakfast: Hotel IBEROSTAR Grand Packard (5*), This First Class Hotel quickly found its place among the leading hotels in Havana, build behind and above a remaining antique facade and in top location at the Prado, facing the sea, the Malecon and with panoramic views to the Fortress El Morro. Modern state of the art interior and comfort with fantastic views from the panoramic terrace with surrounding infinity pools. Deluxe Room.

Day 2

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included) In the morning, pick up by your English-speaking guide ride in the funny yellow cocotaxis. You´ll pass by the “Capitolio building” and drive along Prado to the “Cathedral Square” from where you will start a walking tour through colonial Old Havana with its most important sites: “Palacio de los Capitanes Generales”, Hemingway´s "Bodeguita", “El Templete”, “Castillo del la Real Fuerza”, “Plaza Vieja” etc. The tour ends with a real Cuban experience you definitely may not miss during your stay in Cuba. Before lunch, you will visit a Salsa school with a rooftop terrace of a colonial house in the middle of Old Town Havana and learn the basic steps of the Cuban Salsa. From there you continue to lunch at a private restaurant Paladar “Ivan Justo". In the evening, pick up for a tour in a classic American 1950s car along the “Malecón”, stop at the “Revolution Square”, drive through “Parque ALmendares” with its mystique ceiba trees and the “Quinta Avenida” through the former upper-class residential and diplomatic area of Miramar with its beautiful mansions. On the way, stop for an aperitif at the garden of the legendary Hotel Nacional with anecdotes about the Mafia and other "celebrities" of the 1950s. 19:00 hrs pick up for Dinner at a typical private restaurant called “paladar” e.g. "La Esperanza", with its 1950s flair. Day 3

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included) 08:30 hrs An early start takes you along the Tobacco Route to the province of Pinar del Rio in the west of Cuba. First stop will be at “El Patio de Pelegrin”, a social community project founded by the artist Mario Pelegrin, who (or one of his lovely team) will show you around his beautiful and lush, ecological garden and give you more information about the about 12 different educative and creative workshops for “young and old” of the neighbourhood, while enjoying fresh coconut water or juices. Continue on a panoramic tour through the Viñales Valley where time seems to stand still. Visit a tobacco farm to learn more about the entire process from planting the tobacco until having the cigar. Enjoy a real countryside lunch with a view at paladar “Balcon de Valle” (or similar). In the afternoon of the „Prehistoric Wall“, a huge art work on a rock made by the Cuban Painter Gonzalez Morillo. You will end this day in Viñales with a real Cuban, rustic surprise. 21:00 hrs Dinner at the prominent cult-paladar “La Guarida”– „the hardest table to get in Havana“, location of the famous Cuban film „Strawberry and Chocolate“(nominated for an Oscar 1992), visited by the Queen of Spain, Sting, Robert Redford, Oliver Stone and Madonna. Day 4

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included) 10:00 hrs Your day begins with a guided tour through one of the famous tobacco factories (e.g. Partagas, H. Upmann, La Corona or Romeo & Julieta). See the impressive skills of the "torcedores" (cigar rollers) producing the best cigars in the world. Later on to Marianao, where you will watch a training session of „Havana Queens“, the most hip modern dance ensemble in town. Immerse into the world of the young dancers and get an authentic insight, including a small live performance and explanations about their life and history by the manager and/or the choreographer. 13:00 hrs Lunch today is at one of Havana’s unique “paladares” e.g. at Paladar „Rio Mar“ or „Vistamar“ both facing the sea. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. Accommodation with breakfast: see day before.

Day 5

(Breakfast and Dinner included) 09:00 hrs In the morning on a scenic drive to Central Cuba and the “Zapata Peninsula”, one of the largest areas of swampland in the Caribbean and home of hundreds of native species of flora and fauna. Forwards until you reach the port city of Cienfuegos with its "Punta Gorda" peninsula and the mudejar-style Palacio del Valle. Walk over the main square “Parque Marti” with its French colonial architecture and the nostalgic “Terry Theatre”, where already Caruso and Sarah Bernhardt performed on the stage. 20:00 hrs Dinner in a typical Cuban restaurant situated by the sea e.g. private paladar "Villa Lagarto" or „Finca del Mar“. Accommodation with breakfast: Hotel MELIA San Carlos (4*), Suite City View.

Day 6

(Breakfast and Dinner included) 09:00 hrs in the morning visit of Cienfuegos´”Botanical garden”. Afterwards drive along the panoramic coast road to Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with unique colonial architecture. Founded in 1513, Trinidad had its most prosperous time during the sugar boom in the 19th century. In the morning, a walking tour through the cobbled streets and across the idyllic “Plaza Mayor” surrounded by the beautiful mansions of former sugar barons. Visit the rustic, "Chanchánchara" bar, where you can try the local honey liquor. Followed by a guided tour through the “Romantic Museum” at the “Palacio Brunet” or the City Museum at “Palacio Cantero”. Day 7

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included) Early morning go on a beautiful scenic route past coffee plantations up to the “Topes de Collantes” in the Escambray Sierra. Opportunity to hike on the “Guayanara Trail”, along the “Rio Melodioso” by an impressive natural world with endemic flora and fauna. Heading opportunity to take a refreshing swim under waterfalls and natural pools with lunch break in a rustic restaurant surrounded by a beautiful natural backdrop. In the afternoon, back to Trinidad City. 20:00 hrs The location of the tonight´s dinner is another highlight. Day 8

(Breakfast and Lunch included) In the morning, take a trip on a nostalgic, steam-train* through Sugar Mill Valley with the Hacienda of the former sugar barons, Iznaga. Panoramic view from the legendary "slave tower". Then drive to Santa Clara, where Ernesto "El Ché" Guevara celebrated his greatest victory and, later found his final resting place. Followed by a visit of the “Che Guevara” Monument and “Tren Blindado”. Lunch at a local paladar eg. “Finca de Ta”.
