Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at in Accra, Ghana. You will then be transferred to their hotel in Accra. The rest of the day will be at leisure. Overnight Accra

Day 2

After breakfast, the group will proceed on a city tour of Accra visiting places of interest such as Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Park dedicated to the memory of Ghana’s first president and the African of the 20th century, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the W.E.B. Dubois Centre for Pan African Culture and the National Museum. Also discover on this tour, British Accra, Brazilian Accra, Dutch Accra, Danish Accra and other historic sites of the city. Day 3

After breakfast, depart Accra for Kumasi, Ghana’s cultural capital and the historic heart of the Ashanti Kingdom. Founded in the late 17th century during the formation of the Ashanti Union, Kumasi remains one of the few places in Africa where a living monarchy continues to shape tradition and identity.

Upon arrival, begin an immersive city tour highlighting Kumasi’s rich history and spiritual legacy. Visit the sacred Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, where the legendary priest is said to have driven a sword into the earth in 1697, foretelling that no one would ever remove it, a powerful symbol of Ashanti unity and strength. Continue to the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, home to royal regalia and a replica of the famed Golden Stool once presented to the British.

The journey continues to Manhyia Palace, the official residence and seat of the Ashanti monarchy since 1924, offering deep insight into royal traditions and governance, followed by a visit to the Military Museum. Conclude the day with a guided walk through Kejetia Market, the largest open-air market in West Africa, where vibrant trade, color, and everyday life unfold across its vast expanse.

Day 4

Today is dedicated to experiencing the living craftsmanship of the Ashanti Region. Begin at Adanwomase, a renowned Kente weaving village, where skilled artisans demonstrate the intricate techniques behind Ghana’s most iconic royal cloth. Learn the meanings of the patterns and enjoy the opportunity to try weaving on a traditional loom.

Next, visit a local cocoa farm to gain insight into Ghana’s world-famous cocoa industry. Follow the journey of cocoa from harvesting and fermentation to drying, and understand its importance to both the local economy and global chocolate production.

Continue to Ntonso, the historic home of Adinkra symbols. Here, explore the art of Adinkra cloth printing, where centuries-old symbols communicate wisdom, values, and philosophy. Create your own Adinkra-printed fabric as a personalized keepsake, making this a truly hands-on and memorable cultural experience.

Day 5

Depart Kumasi and travel south toward Ghana’s historic coastline. En route, make a reflective stop at Assin Manso, the sacred Slave River site where enslaved Africans took their final bath on African soil before the long journey into bondage. This powerful place of memory offers a moment to honor resilience, loss, and ancestral connection.

Continue to Cape Coast for a guided visit to the imposing Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant landmarks of the transatlantic slave trade. Walk through the dark dungeons where captives were held, stand before the “Door of No Return,” and gain deep insight into the history that forever shaped Africa and the diaspora. The day ends along the Atlantic coast, leaving you with a profound understanding of Ghana’s role in world history.

Day 6

After days of rich cultural discovery and emotional reflection, today is yours to unwind at your own pace. Enjoy a slow morning at your coastal hotel, relax by the pool, soak in the ocean breeze, or curl up with a good book in a tranquil setting. This free day offers the perfect balance time to rest, reflect, and recharge while embracing the soothing rhythms of Ghana’s beautiful coastline

Day 7

Begin your day with a journey into the heart of Kakum National Park, one of Ghana’s most captivating natural wonders. Experience the thrill of walking across seven famous canopy bridges, suspended high above the rainforest floor, and feel the thrill of walking above the rainforest floor while taking in breathtaking panoramic views that covers 90% of the park’s landscape. Alternatively, join a guided nature walk to explore the diverse flora and fauna, learning about the ecological and cultural significance of the plants and wildlife that call this vibrant forest home.

Next, travel to the historic town of Elmina and embark on a guided tour of Elmina Castle, the oldest European building in Sub-Saharan Africa, built by the Portuguese in 1482. On your final day, enjoy leisure time to relax at your hotel or squeeze in some last-minute shopping for souvenirs and gifts. Depending on your schedule, you will be transferred to Kotoka International Airport for your onward flight or to the port to board your return cruise.
