After breakfast you will cross Bukavu border to Rwanda side and enjoy the afternoon boat cruise along Lake Kivu which is one of the African Great Lakes.[2] It lies on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and is in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu empties into the Ruzizi River, which flows southwards into Lake Tanganyika. Kivu lake shoreline at Rusizi Rwanda In the past, Lake Kivu drained toward the north, contributing to the White Nile. About 13,000 to 9,000 years ago, volcanic activity blocked Lake Kivu's outlet to the watershed of the Nile. The volcanism produced mountains, including the Virunga, which rose between Lake Kivu and Lake Edward, to the north. Water from Lake Kivu was then forced south down the Ruzizi. This, in turn, raised the level of Lake Tanganyika, which overflowed down the Lukuga River. Dinner and overnight at Peace guest house

Today is one of the must do activities in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda is the Dian Fossey grave site (tomb) hike/trek. The hike aims to give tourists a learning experience about the works of the famous American primatologist and conservationist, Dian Fossey, who dedicated her life to research about the mountain gorillas. She set up a research camp in the valley between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke hence the name ‘Karisoke’. Her works to protect the mountains gorillas and their habitat would lead her into conflict with negative forces including poachers and she was eventually killed. She was buried among the gorillas near her Karisoke Research Center. The survival of the mountain gorillas is largely credited to after the revealing visit to the Dian Fossey grave site (tomb) and her research center. She demystified the negative perception of mountain gorillas as being savage beasts living in the jungles of Africa as she discovered gentle and intelligent creatures. This would later inspire the habituation of mountain gorilla groups for tourists to visit . The money collected from the gorilla trekking trips and hiking tours in the park is used for conservation activities in the park, this activity requires jungle boot, rain jacket, long sleeves, reparents. Dinner and overnight at Isange Paradise Resort.
