The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is one of Nepal’s most iconic and breathtaking Himalayan adventures, offering an unforgettable journey through lush rhododendron forests, charming Gurung villages, and awe-inspiring mountain landscapes. Nestled at an altitude of 4,130 meters (13,550 feet), the base camp sits in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by towering peaks like Annapurna I (8,091m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), and Hiunchuli.
This moderate-to-challenging trek typically takes 7 to 12 days, depending on the route and acclimatization needs. Trekkers follow well-maintained trails through diverse terrain, from terraced farmlands and bamboo groves to glacial moraines. Along the way, you’ll experience warm hospitality in teahouse lodges, soak in natural hot springs at Jhinu Danda, and witness stunning sunrises over the Himalayas from viewpoints like Poon Hill.
The best seasons for the ABC Trek are spring (March-May) for blooming rhododendrons and autumn (September-November) for clear skies. Whether you're an avid trekker or a nature lover, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek promises an extraordinary blend of adventure, culture, and natural beauty.
