We arrive in Bulgaria and visit first the amazing Cape Kaliakra, a tall cliff edge spreading in the Back Sea. Next we arrive in Bachick, a beautiful sea resort, where we visit the charming Royal Castle and Gardens.

Moment 2 – Queen Mary’s Castle in Balchick

The main tourist attractions in Balchik is the Castle of Queen Maria and the botanical garden. This is unique in Central and Eastern Europe. It is a highlight on our Bulgarian Seaside Tour from Bucharest.

The Queen built the castle combining the Italian and Turkish style with minarets. The walls of the building are whitewashed. Besides the castle, there is also a restaurant where the Queen drank. This restaurant is open today for visitors. Inside the castle there are several villas, the holy spring, the Bridge of Sighs, a waterfall, the tomb of the Queen Maria, a chapel or wine alley.

The botanical garden at the castle is unique in the center and eastern Europe. This is thanks to the impressive collection of cacti. In addition a huge greenhouse was built here.  The gardens are well groomed. It is seen that the people there put their soul in what they do.
