Drive from Kathmandu to Chandragiri Cable Car Station

Waking up early, you get ready and wait for your ride to come to pick you up. Receiving you from the hotel they will drive you to Chandragiri cable car station. On your way, you will see crowded roads with people swarming all over it.

As you head out of the city, the beautiful scenarios of hills and fields will surround you. After 1 hour drive, you reach your destination.

Cable car ride to the Chandragiri Hilltop

After arriving at the cable car station, your driver will purchase the tickets for you. Then waiting for your turn you board the cable car. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the hilltop.

As you look out your cart, you will see the beautiful scenery of the valleys below. The route covers a total distance of 2.8 km. Looking at the scenarios, you reach your destination.

Lunch at one of the resorts

As you reach the top of Chandragiri hill, you can see the breathtaking view of Kathmandu valley from above. On the north side, you can see the picturesque view of mountain ranges.

This place also has a small park and children’s playground. You can see the whole Kathmandu Valley from this viewpoint. After exploring the area, you have lunch in one of the restaurants. There are many restaurants, hotels, and cafes there.

Chandragiri Hills reside at an altitude of 2540 m above sea level. The weather is unpredictable on top of Chandragiri Hills. The weather is chilly even in the summer season. Also, occasional rainfall happens in the hilltop. So, it is better to carry a sweater or extra-warm clothes just in case.

Back to Kathmandu

After having a delicious lunch, you head back to the cable station via cable car. Then from there, you board your ride and return to Kathmandu valley.
