We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning and head to Aphrodisias Ancient City, one of the most significant archaeological sites from the Greek and Roman periods in Turkey. Located in a fertile valley of the Maeander River basin, 100 miles southeast of Izmir, this ancient city was devoted to the goddess Aphrodite and thrived from the 1st century BC to the 6th century AD. Several well-preserved ancient monuments, marble statues, inscriptions, and artifacts have been discovered through ongoing excavations. Aphrodisias is especially notable for its impressive sculpture workshops, which were renowned for their sculptors' creativity and technical skill, making it a significant art center in the Roman world.
