(Hands-on Cooking Experience with Hotel Pickup & Lunch
Included)
This unique culinary tour begins at 09:00 with a pick-up
from your hotel in Cappadocia. After a warm welcome, you will be taken to a
local village market (except Thursdays) where you'll select fresh, seasonal
ingredients. During the shopping experience, your guide will explain local
produce and introduce you to the essentials of Turkish cuisine. After the
market visit, the journey continues to King’s Valley, a peaceful and natural
area near the Kelebek Hotel. In this serene setting, you will enjoy a hands-on
cooking class led by experienced local village women. With guidance from your
instructor, you'll prepare a traditional Cappadocian meal consisting of:
A seasonal starter soup
Dolma (stuffed vegetables)
Sarma (stuffed vine leaves)
A local main course (e.g., green beans, leeks, or
chickpeas)
A traditional dessert
And finally, Turkish Coffee, prepared and served with all
its cultural rituals
Throughout the session, you will learn regional cooking
techniques, preparation tips, and the cultural background of each dish.
By 13:00, it’s time to enjoy the food you’ve prepared with
your own hands. Your lunch will include your own dolma and sarma, complemented
by additional side dishes and traditional desserts. This shared meal is a
delicious reward after a satisfying culinary effort. Following lunch, you’ll
participate in a Turkish Coffee workshop, where you'll not only learn how to
brew authentic Turkish coffee but also explore its history, cultural
significance, and even the tradition of coffee fortune-telling. Around 16:00,
you will be dropped off at your hotel, ending a memorable and flavorful journey
into the heart of Anatolian cooking. We hope you enjoyed this special
experience and return home with lasting memories, new culinary skills, and a
deeper connection to Turkish culture. Thank you for choosing TravelShop
