The city is aesthetically magnificent, much of which is contributed by its location in the middle of wide expanse of plains, which are surrounded by purple hued mountains. There are also several lakes and rivers which add to its beauty. Elazig is endowed with immense natural resources. Abundant water supply from huge rivers like Euphrates (Firat) and the rich mineral deposit from underground, together contribute towards the rapid industrialization.

Pick up from your hotel in the morning and depart for Elazig city tour. Our first visit will be Buzluk Cave, Due to the geomorphological feature and shape of the cave and the climatological conditions, the summer foot naturally has ice in the distance. In winter, ice cannot form. Therefore, the underground draft is hot in winters and cold in summers. There are very few such caves in the world. Then we will continue to Elazig Great Mosque. It is one of the oldest mosque in Anatolia. Most probably built in 12th century. Sources are not clear for the mosque. Then continue to Virgin Mary Church, on the road we will see; Harput Castle was founded by the Urartu Kingdom in the 8th century BC. From the 6th century BC, it came under the domination of the Persians. Between the 1st century BC and the 11th century AD, it witnessed great struggles between the Parthian, Roman, Sassanid, Byzantine and Abbasid, and continued under Byzantine rule until the end of the 11th century. Then, continue to Virgin Mary Church, since the west wall is formed by the rock masses of the castle, the church seems to be buried within the rocks of the castle. One of the oldest shrines in Anatolia, the Virgin Mary Church is also known as the Red Church, the Syriac Church and the Yakubi Church. After the church we will visit to Kursunlu Mosque. It is one of the most beautiful examples of Ottoman Period mosques in Harput. It was built between 1738 - 1739. The mosque has a rectangular plan. The square planned harim is covered with a dome. There are four windows in the dome drum. It got this name because its domes are covered with lead. Then we will continue to Elazig Archaeology and Ethnography Museum. The museum building consists of three sections: archaeological artifacts and coin hall, carpet and rug gallery, and ethnography hall. After the tour transfer to your hotel in Elazig.
