At 8:30 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel for a full-day excursion to Priene-Miletus-Didyma. Priene, situated 16 kilometers inland from the sea on the Mykale Mountain, was once a bustling harbor city. The Hellenic world's most exquisite theaters can be found in Priene, and the city was gifted the Athena Polias Temple by Alexander the Great. The Temple of Athena (4th century BC), the Theater, the Agora, the Temple of Zeus Olympos, the Bouleuterion (150 BC), two gymnasiums, and the Demeter Sanctuary are still visible today.
Explore the vast ancient city of Miletus, once among the largest cities in Anatolia, and situated on significant trade routes. It was renowned as the epicenter of philosophy, science, and art during the ancient era. The Miletus School played a crucial role in the development of science in ancient Greek civilization. Anaximenes of Miletus attempted to explain existence, Anaximandros recorded universal laws on stones without invoking the gods, and Hecataios made a significant contribution to geography by creating the first-ever world map.
Didyma is not a city but an impressive temple dedicated to Apollon. It was rebuilt and once stood as one of the grandest temples in the Hellenic world, now ranking as the third largest temple in the world built-in Ionian style. It is recognized as one of the best-preserved ancient temples.
