Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul and transferred to Istanbul Airport for your domestic flight to Trabzon. Upon arrival in Trabzon, meet your local guide and begin your full-day city tour. The first stop will be the historic Hagia Sophia Mosque (St. Sophia Church), a remarkable 13th-century monument famous for its impressive Byzantine frescoes. Continue to Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Trabzon Castle, and Ataturk’s Mansion, a beautiful hillside residence offering panoramic views of the city. The tour will also include a visit to Ortahisar Mosque, formerly a Comnenian cathedral located in the heart of the old town. Explore the charming cobblestone streets of Trabzon before heading to Boztepe, where you can enjoy traditional Turkish tea from a samovar while admiring the spectacular city views. Continue to Lake Sera before visiting the famous Sumela Monastery, a stunning 4th-century monastery dramatically built into a steep cliff within a forested mountain landscape. Enjoy some time at Altindere Valley National Park, known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. The journey continues along the historic Silk Road through the Zigana Mountains to Karaca Cave, one of Turkey’s most beautiful caves, renowned for its colorful formations and impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Lunch will be served during the tour. At the end of the tour, transfer to Trabzon Airport for your evening flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul, meet your driver and transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
