Picturesque Rijeka Crnojevica is a significant historical site of Montenegro and it is a place you can`t miss while in Montenegro. It was once the capital of the Crnojevic dynasty (15th century) and the first printed book in Europe “Oktoih prvoglasnik”, was printed in a printing house in this very place. Can you believe that we printed a book in 1494, just 2 years after Columbus discovered America? How amazing is that?
This tour is a perfect opportunity to experience and see the old Montenegro.
OVERVIEW
The Jewels of Skadar Lake tour starts in front of your hotel where we will pick you up (Podgorica). After half an hour drive, we will have a photo stop at one of the most beautiful views on Skadar lake, Pavlova Strana (Pavle’s side). Soon after the stop, we will reach Rijeka Crnojevica, a small town with a large and significant history. We will go on a hike to Obod cave (5 km total) and when we return we will do a boat trip of one hour. This is also when we will enter Skadar Lake National Park. We will enjoy the beautiful nature unfolding in front of our eyes, while tasting Montenegrin homemade food, rakija and wine. Our guide will explain everything you need to know about Lake Skadar and its surroundings. Yours is only to relax and enjoy your time.
After the boat ride on Skadar lake, we will go to one of the oldest wineries in this area and taste incredible wines and spirits. After the full day of adventures and with smiles on our faces, we will return back to your hotel.
