Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Nairobi, the ‘City Under the Sun!’

Upon touchdown at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and after clearance with customs & immigration, our representative will meet you and assist you to the vehicle parking for your transfer to your city hotel for your overnight stay on a Bed and Breakfast basis. 

Time permitting, we can arrange a Nairobi city tour (at an additional cost).Spend the day visiting the famous David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can see baby elephants at play, feeding and having a mud bath and the Giraffe Centre, where you can come in close contact, feeding and interacting with the endangered Rothschild Giraffes. A walk down memory lane at the Karen Blixen Museum/ National Museum with a visit to the Museum of Illusions (a playful, mind-bending museum that blends art, science and psychology to trick the senses and challenge how you see the world) or a City tour through Nairobi’s bustling streets and iconic buildings, topped off with a shopping extravaganza at the Maasai market are also on the menu. Game drives at the ‘World’s Only Wildlife Capital’ (Nairobi National Park) and a culinary extravaganza at the iconic Carnivore Restaurant for an all-you-can-eat ‘carnivorous buffet’ featuring exotic barbecued meats can also be arranged for.

Day 2

Home to one of the Seven New Wonders of the World, aka the Great Wildebeest Migration, the Masai Mara’s savannah grasslands holds your first safari adventure.

Occurring in the dry months of July to September where millions of wildebeest, migrate from the parched plains of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, in the company of smaller numbers of antelope, buffalo and zebra, they collectively move to the more forgiving grasslands of the Maasai Mara, and in their wake come predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah, for whom these giant herds are an easy source of prey.

Enjoy a short game drive en-route to camp where you are expected to arrive in time for check-in and lunch which will be followed by relaxation, absorbing the surroundings before setting off on an afternoon game drive in the reserve till sunset. You may come across giraffes nibbling on the highest leaves or elephant stripping bark of the tastiest trees.

Return to camp at dusk, just in time for a rejuvenating hot shower, followed by an aperitif by the fireside with your hosts and other guests before settling down for dinner.

Meals and overnight stay at the camp/ lodge on Full Board basis.

Day 3

Awake at dawn to the soothing sounds of nature filling the cool morning breeze and presenting a hopeful day of thrilling, wildlife encounters. After a hearty breakfast, you will venture out into the rugged wilderness where you may see jackals roaming, warthog bathing or impala jousting.

Guests travelling within the migration period (June- October) will be treated to front-row seats to the exhilarating Great Wildebeest Migration.

An unforgettable, hot air balloon ride at sunrise, gliding across the magnificent landscapes and meandering along the mighty Mara River for jaw-dropping, bird’s-eye-views of the abundant wildlife below on their usual morning routines is also on the menu. A once-in-a-lifetime safari experience that can be arranged for (at an additional cost).

Following a delicious picnic lunch, visits to a local Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience courtesy of the colorfully adorned, indigenous Maasai people.  

Later in the afternoon return to camp to relax, swim, read, watch the resident birdlife or enjoy a siesta watching the sun sink below the horizon.

Overnight stay and meals at camp/ lodge on Full Board Basis.

Day 4

Following a scrumptious breakfast undertake a relaxing boat ride across the fresh water lake for a front-row seat to the resident hippos and dazzling water-birds that call this paradise home. Arrive at the local ‘Crescent Island’ (an ornithological paradise) for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk among giraffe, waterbuck, gazelle, zebra among others.

Thereafter, you will head out to your next ‘Bush Home’ at Lake Nakuru National Park.

Surrounded by the Great Rift Valley escarpment and picturesque ridges, the park hosts a wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that play host to abundant wildlife. Enjoy a short game drive en-route to camp spotting the numerous flamingos and other birdlife that flock here to feed.

You are expected to arrive at the camp/ lodge in time for check-in and a mouth-watering lunch. Relax at the camp during the heat of the day before venturing out on an afternoon game drive. Host to the country’s first rhino sanctuary, you will take on the surrounding wooded and bushy grassland, looking out for the numerous white and black rhinos, grazing among the Rothschild giraffes, leopards, lions, and cheetahs among others that thrive here.

Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5

After early breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the lodge for your next road transfer to the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a short stop-over at the breathtaking Rift Valley viewpoint for a picturesque photo session featuring the awe-inspiring valley and the dormant Mount Longonot, before descending its steep escarpment, arriving at your lodge in time for check-in and late lunch.

Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking in the beauty of the Lake Naivasha and its thriving wildlife and abundant birdlife.

Meals and Overnight stay at the Lodge/ Resort on Full Board basis. 

Day 6

After early breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for your road transfer to the southern reaches of Kenya, arriving at your first ‘home away from home’ at the Amboseli National Park.

Translating to ‘salt dust’, this untouched wildlife paradise is famed for its gorgeous, unobstructed views of the majestic, snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro, making it a perfect piece of paradise for an excellent variety of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah, just to mention a few.

Host to sparkling swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok, this is every avid birdwatches and photographers dream come true.

You are expected to arrive at the lodge in time for check-in and a delicious lunch, which will be followed by a relaxing afternoon siesta in your room before venturing out on your first official evening game drive, returning to the lodge in time for a warm shower and a hearty dinner. 

Day 7

Rise to a delicious breakfast before spending the entire day out and about, exploring the stunning Amboseli ecosystems and getting up-close to the massive herds of elephants that freely roam. After a scrumptious picnic lunch, set out on an authentic cultural immersion experience courtesy of the native Maasai people for a glimpse into their unique, nomadic lifestyle that allows them to successfully co-exist with the thriving wildlife.

A hot air balloon ride at sunrise can also be arranged for (at an additional cost)

Day 8

From the iconic landscapes of Amboseli, your safari continues to the rugged and dramatic terrain of Tsavo West National Park. This journey showcases the diverse beauty of Kenya as you transition from the open plains of Amboseli to the volcanic hills, springs, and diverse wildlife of Tsavo West. Prepare to explore a different side of Kenya's natural wonders, featuring thrilling game drives in search of the thriving man-eater lions, herds of elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and buffaloes, just to mention a few, as well as diverse plant and spectacular birdlife including the threatened corncake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler. Visits to Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Shetani Lava Flow and Mzima Springs are all up for grabs.

Day 9

Time to bid the wilderness goodbye.

After a scrumptious breakfast, proceed to check out as the team bids you farewell. Enjoy one last game drive across the rugged wilderness en-route to the Motito Andei SGR train station for your scheduled train ride to Mombasa.

On arrival, you will be met by our representative for your transfer to your Beach Resort where you are expected to arrive in the afternoon.

Overnight stay and meals at the beach resort on Half Board basis.

Day 10

Renowned for its striking rock formations and abundant marine life, Watamu is the ultimate beach lover’s destination. You can opt to spend the day relaxing or spend it through a myriad of activities that Watamu has to offer including morning snorkeling over the colorful coral reefs, kite surfing, diving and scuba dive or take on a morning yoga class at the Watamu Treehouse. Exciting visits to the Watamu Marine National Park, for up-close marine-life encounters with the resident dolphins, the migratory humpback whales (July-September) and turtles are not to be missed. A tour through Arabuko Sokoke Forest (the largest coastal forest in East Africa) for elephants and brilliant butterfly sightings, crowned with an unforgettable dhow cruise experience on a traditional dhow in the untouched Mida Creek are also on the menu. A walk down memory lane to the ancient Gede Ruins, with authentic cultural immersions courtesy of the Swahili people are all at your disposal. Savor some of the freshest fish and sea food at the popular Crab Shack Restaurant before soaking in the most magical, golden sunset from the famous Lichthaus Restaurant for a wholesome Watamu experience, signing off an all-rounded Kenyan Safari-Beach experience.

Day 11

Waking up to your last morning in paradise, enjoy one last breakfast by the warm Indian Ocean before your transfer to the Mombasa SGR train terminals for your train ride to Nairobi.

Upon touch-down in Nairobi, our representative will meet you and transfer you to the JKIA, in time for your homebound flight.
