Mardi Himal Trek is a short trek in the western Annapurna region of Nepal. It is a well-liked trek because of the indefinable view of Mt. Annapurna (8,091m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Mt. Machapuchre (6,993m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Mardi Himal base camp, Australian camp, Pothana and many more. Shattering sunrise views along with the Annapurna range and other high rage mountains make this trek more attractive.
The Mardi Himal trek is mostly a 4-5 day high-altitude trek. Before starting your trek, you need to get permission from the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and TIMS card. You can easily get both the permissions at the Tourism Information Centre in Pokhara or in Kathmandu. This permission is very important before entering the Annapurna region. If you don’t have permission, then you will have to get permission with an extra fine charge.
Your journey for the Mardi trek starts from Kathmandu, from where you drive to Pokhara. After one hour drive from Pokhara, you will reach Phedi from where you will start your trek for the Mardi Trek. However, there are many other routes for the Mardi Himal trek which you can choose according to your time and location. The standard route starts from Kande to Siding, whereas the Connection route starts from Ghandruk to siding, the short trek route starts from Landruk to Siding and the long trek route starts from Ghandruk to Kyumi. During your trek, you can glimpse the rhododendron forest, Gurung village, stone houses, bridges, teahouse, rock monument, exquisite landscape, high range mountains and many more.
The Mardi Himal trek is easy and challenging too. If you are a beginner, then this trek will be a little challenging for you. This is a long walk trek with many uphills, so if you are a beginner, maybe you will face some difficulties and height problems during your trek. This trek offers a nearly complete view of the Annapurna region and other high-range mountains in a very short period of time. So, if you are adventurous and want to experience and explore the unseen beauty of nature, then this trek is the best option for you.
