MATEO MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
Mateo Mountain in the Cordillera Blanca and Huascaran National Park become popular in
the 20’s easy access and summiting, this small mountain of 5170masl is easy to
reach by the paved highway that goes from Carhuaz to Chacas. For one classical
day tour is taking organized from our office In Huaraz, and depart around 3am
with a three hours drive to Punta Olimpica 4736masl, once here start hiking up
at rocky trail moraine area, and breathing quite think becomes at this
altitude, this moraine walking takes for about one hour to reach the glacier at
5000masl try-on the climbing equipment and start climbing in the glacier as the
mountain guides goes checking and guiding everybody going in perfect conditions
at all features, two hours ice climbing got the summit successfully and
splendor mountain views and turquoise
lakes are around you to compensate the quite outbreathing effort. After
one-hour aprox getting experience and having lost of shoots back to the punta
olimpica by the same way where the minivan awaits to transfer back to Huaraz,
the pleasant stop can be at Carhuaz to delight traditional icecreams or have
some snacks or have arranged lunch at
recommended country restaurant, back to Huaraz at proper time as arranged
previous with travel agency at time of your reservation. Arriving to Huaraz
time aprox at 2pm.
