9:00 AM to begin the historical journey to Mtskheta,
the former capital of the Kingdom of Iberia.
Jvari Monastery
The first stop is the
famous Jvari Monastery, located on a
hill overlooking the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi
rivers. Built in the 6th century,
this early Christian monument is a masterpiece of Georgian architecture and
part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
From here you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Mtskheta and the surrounding mountains.
Armaziskhevi Archaeological Site
Continue to Armaziskhevi,
an archaeological site located just a few minutes from Mtskheta. Excavations
reveal remains from the Bronze Age and early
Iron Age, as well as artifacts connected with Roman
influence and pre-Christian Georgian culture.
Samtavro Monastery
Next, visit the historic Samtavro
Monastery, where the tombs of the first
Christian king and queen of Georgia are located. Christianity
was adopted as the state religion of the Kingdom of Iberia in
319 AD, marking a significant turning point in Georgian

Shio-Mgvime Monastery

Monastery, founded in the 6th
