Our journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel between 4:15 and 4:30 am. We will then head towards the town of Pitumarca, which will take approximately two hours. There, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Continuing our trip, we will pass through beautiful valleys, small canyons, and impressive pre-Inca terraces until we reach the community of CHILLIHUANI. From there, we will be treated to an impressive view of Apu Ausangate. After a briefing from our guide, we will start our hike, which will be gradual and last around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Along the way, we will encounter various South American camelids, such as alpacas and llamas, as well as birds, lagoons, valleys, streams, and snow-capped peaks, until we finally reach Rainbow Mountain or ‘Montaña Siete Colores’ (‘Mountain of Seven Colors’).
This place is truly unique and magical, formed by nature’s whims. After enjoying a serene moment in contact with nature for about 40 to 50 minutes, we will begin our return to the town of CUSIPATA, where we will have lunch. Finally, we will head back to the city of Cusco.
