Karibu Nairobi, the ‘City
Under the Sun!’
Upon touchdown at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and after clearance with customs & immigration, our representative will meet you and assist you to the vehicle parking for your transfer to your city Hotel for your overnight stay on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
Time permitting, we can arrange a
Nairobi city tour (at an additional cost).
Spend the day visiting the famous David
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you can see baby elephants at play, feeding and
having a mud bath and the Giraffe Centre, where you can come in close contact,
feeding and interacting with the endangered Rothschild Giraffes. A walk down
memory lane at the Karen Blixen Museum/ National Museum with a visit to the
Museum of Illusions (a playful, mind-bending museum that blends art, science
and psychology to trick the senses and challenge how you see the world). A City
tour through Nairobi’s bustling streets and iconic buildings, topped off with a
shopping extravaganza at the Maasai market are also on the menu. Game drives at
the ‘World’s Only Wildlife Capital’ (Nairobi National Park) and a culinary
extravaganza at the iconic Carnivore Restaurant for an all-you-can-eat ‘carnivorous
buffet’ featuring exotic barbecued meats can also be arranged for.
Following an early breakfast, enjoy
the breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea
and coffee en-route to the rugged Samburu National Reserve. Boasting magnificent, untouched landscapes
this less-visited destination is home to the renowned, indigenous 'butterfly
people' aka Samburu people, and the unique ‘Samburu 5’- mammals found north of
the equator only (Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk
and the Beisa oryx).
You are expected to arrive at
lodge in time for check-in, lunch and an afternoon siesta thereafter.
Later in the afternoon, you
will head out for your first ‘real’ game drive before returning to camp/ lodge
as the sunsets.

Spend the entire day
exploring the vast Samburu landscapes, getting up-close to the large herds of
elephants and the not-so-elusive leopards crowned with an authentic cultural immersion experience at a local Samburu
village that make up for an awe-inspiring, wholesome Samburu experience.
Optional visits to
the heart-warming Reteti Elephant Sanctuary for an
up-close encounter with the rescued baby elephants, with visits to the elephant
rock art, and the singing wells (a fascinating cultural tradition where the
Samburu warriors (morans) dig deep wells into the sand riverbeds forming human
chains, passing water containers from one person to another to water their
precious livestock at the surface), can also be arranged for (at an additional
cost).

Leaving the rugged Samburu
wilderness behind, it’s time to head out to the popular Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Sandwiched between the foothills of the Aberdares and the snowcapped Mt Kenya,
it is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and a safe haven for the
last 2 Northern White rhinos in the world. Enjoy a short game drive en route to
the camp where you are expected to arrive in time for check-in and a delicious
lunch. Later in the afternoon, you can visit our distant cousins, aka the
endangered, cheeky chimpanzees of the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary,
learning of their rescue and rehabilitation stories whilst contributing to
their vital conservation. Offering a range of unique conservation activities, you
can also indulge in an exciting night game drive for a front row seat to the
nocturnal wildlife that thrive here, lion tracking, guided bush walks, cycling
in the wild, dog tracking, and feeding Baraka (the blind black rhino).
Following a delicious
breakfast, take on an optional adventure, interacting with Fatu and Najin (the
last 2 northern white rhinos in the world). Thereafter, you will head out to
the dazzling waters of the Lake Nakuru National Park. Surrounded by the Great Rift Valley escarpment and picturesque ridges,
the park hosts a wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that play host
to abundant wildlife. Indulge in exciting game drives spotting the numerous
flamingos and other birdlife that flock here to feed. Host to the country’s
first rhino sanctuary, take on the surrounding wooded and bushy grassland, looking
out for the thriving white and black rhinos grazing among the Rothschild
giraffes, leopards, lions, and cheetahs among others that call this place home.
Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to Lake Naivasha (a fresh water lake) for your dinner and overnight stay.
Rise to an early morning
breakfast, before heading out to the calm lake water for a relaxing boat ride
cruise crowned with up-close encounters with the resident birdlife and hippos.
Enjoy a stroll through Crescent Island (an ornithological paradise), for a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk among giraffe, waterbuck, gazelle, zebra
among others.
Thereafter, you will head south,
through Kenya’s "breadbasket" (acres of wheat and barley), making
your way the world renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy your first game
drive in this untouched gem whilst en-route to the camp/ lodge. Enjoy a
delicious lunch which will be followed by an afternoon siesta. Catch the
magical sunset dipping over the horizon from the comfort of the camp before
indulging in a mouth-watering dinner.

Awake at dawn to the soothing
sounds of nature that fill the cool morning breeze presenting a hopeful day of
thrilling, wildlife encounters. Indulge in a hearty breakfast, before venturing
out into the rugged wilderness for a full-day of exploration, soaking in all
its preserved beauties.
Grab a front-row seats to one
of the world’s most exhilarating shows, watching as the millions of
wildebeests, zebras and antelopes embark on a journey of survival (during the
months of July-Sept). Migrating the perched plains of Serengeti National Park,
Tanzania, witness how these brave species take a big leap of bravery, diving
into the crocodile-infested Mara River at the river crossing points, only to
dodge the ever-stocking predators of lions, hyenas and cheetahs who prey on the
weak and vulnerable who survive the river.
An unforgettable, hot
air balloon ride at sunrise, gliding across the magnificent savannah grasslands
and meandering along the mighty Mara River for those jaw-dropping,
bird’s-eye-views of the thriving wildlife whilst on their usual morning
routines can also be arranged for (at an additional cost). A once-in-a-lifetime
safari experience that culminates with a celebratory champagne toss upon
touchdown.
After a delicious
picnic lunch, visit a local Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience
courtesy of the colorfully adorned, indigenous Maasai people for a wholesome
Masai Mara experience.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive
en-route to camp where you may see jackals roaming, warthog bathing or impala jousting.
Catch the golden sunset from
the lodge/camp as you exchange stories around the campfire with the other
guests before your scrumptious dinner is served.

Time to bid the wilderness
goodbye.
After a filling breakfast,
proceed to check out as the team bids you farewell on your final journey. Enjoy
one last game drive across the grassy plains whilst exiting the reserve before
returning to the bustling city.
Upon arrival, you will be dropped off
at the JKIA in time for your international flight back home.
