With its permanent water sources, the Central Serengeti is teeming with wildlife throughout the year. As evening falls, enjoy a sundowner before heading back to your accommodation.

Depart early and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera—the Ngorongoro Crater. Home to over 25,000 animals, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an unbeatable chance to spot all the Big Five in one place, including the rare black rhino. 

The crater floor’s mix of forest, savannah, and soda lakes supports hippos, flamingos, and hyenas. After a picnic lunch, enjoy more wildlife sightings before heading back to your lodge on the crater rim or nearby. Spend your afternoon at leisure, enjoying optional activities like a cultural visit to a Maasai village or simply relaxing.

After breakfast and a relaxed morning, begin your journey back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, depending on your departure plan. You may opt for a scenic domestic flight or a guided drive through Tanzania’s rural landscapes. If time allows, enjoy a final stop at local craft markets or a lunch spot in Arusha before your international flight.
