We set off from the wilderness village of Lompolo on snowshoes through the forests and to the cosy hut by Lake Suksijärvi. There we roast sausages and marshmallows and enjoy them with authentic coffee brewn on open fire.
As we wander through the snowy forest, all we hear is the sound of our snowshoes. When you stop, you can hear the sound of complete silence, have you ever heard it before? During the hike we may also see animals or the tracks they left in the snow. Then we try to identify which animal made them.
After snowshoeing, we will go to learn about reindeer and reindeer herding at a local reindeer farm.
