Game Drive in Yala National Park Embark on a full-day game drive where you’ll explore the park’s diverse ecosystems. Yala is home to a variety of wildlife, including the Sri Lankan leopard, elephants, crocodiles, spotted deer, and more. The park’s landscape ranges from dry scrubland to lagoons, making it ideal for spotting a wide range of animals and bird species.

Visit to the Elephant Transit Home Once you arrive, head to the Elephant Transit Home, an essential conservation center dedicated to caring for orphaned or injured baby elephants. Founded in 1995, the home has rehabilitated many elephants, providing them with the care and nutrition they need until they are strong enough to return to the wild. You will be able to observe a group of around 20 to 30 juvenile elephants being fed four times a day. Feeding time 10:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 6:00 pm. The Elephant Transit Home plays a crucial role in rehabilitating elephants that have been separated from their herds due to human-wildlife conflict or other reasons. Since its inception, many elephants have been successfully reintroduced to their natural habitats, where they continue to live freely.

Next, head to Weligama, famous for its traditional stilt fishermen.
