The wildebeest calving season in the Ndutu area is a remarkable event that takes place during the Great Migration in Tanzania. This annual spectacle sees millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of food and water. From December to March, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest give birth in a synchronized manner, creating a breathtaking display of new life.
Each day, countless calves are born, attracting predators like lions and hyenas, who take advantage of the abundance of vulnerable prey. This season offers an incredible opportunity for visitors to witness both the beauty of new beginnings and the raw power of nature.
