At 09:00, the driver will transfer you 25 km from Almaty to the Medeo Valley. From there, you will take the new cableway to Shymbulak (length 4,600 meters, ranked third in the world for length). From the cableway, enjoy breathtaking views of the Zailiyskiy Alatau peaks: Abay (4,010 m), Komsomol (4,376 m), Shkolnik (3,590 m), and Chkalov (3,892 m).
During the ride, you will float over the high-mountain Medeo skating rink, seeing the rink and spectator stands from above. The cableway also passes over a dam in the Small Almaty Gorge and a forest affected by the hurricane of May 17, 2011. You’ll spot the Shymbulak resort area, including its hotel and cottages, as you approach the station.
