Your thrilling adventure with Jossec Safaris begins with a warm greeting and briefing in Nairobi before we set off in our comfortable 4x4 safari jeep. As we journey north, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Kenya and the vast savannahs. Our destination is Samburu National Park, known for its unique wildlife, including the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and the striking gerenuk. After a delicious lunch at the Samburu Sopa Lodge, we’ll head out for an afternoon game drive to start spotting some of these rare species in the wild. As dusk falls, enjoy dinner back at the lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
After an early morning game drive to catch the animals during their most active hours, we’ll return to the lodge for breakfast before beginning our scenic drive to Lake Nakuru. As we descend into the Great Rift Valley, the landscape changes dramatically, offering perfect photo opportunities. Upon arrival, we’ll check in at Lanet Matfam Resort and enjoy lunch before heading out for an exciting game drive. Lake Nakuru is famous for its incredible birdlife, especially flamingos, as well as its rhino population. Keep your camera ready for close encounters with these magnificent creatures before we return to the resort for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Today, we make our way to the world-renowned Masai Mara, one of the best wildlife destinations on Earth. The drive offers stunning vistas of rolling plains and Maasai villages. We’ll arrive at Rhino Tourist Camp for lunch, where you can recharge before embarking on an afternoon game drive across the vast savannah. The Mara is known for its diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, and cheetahs, not to mention the chance to spot the Big Five. As the sun sets, painting the landscape in golden hues, we return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
This is your day to fully immerse yourself in the wonders of the Masai Mara! We’ll set out after breakfast for a full day of exploring the park’s untamed beauty, with a picnic lunch packed for the journey. The Mara is also home to the Great Migration (July-October), where millions of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River, creating one of nature’s most spectacular events. For an unforgettable experience, consider an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise (for an additional $450), where you’ll glide above the plains and witness the wildlife from a bird’s-eye view. Return to camp in the evening for a well-deserved dinner.
After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll begin our return journey to Nairobi. There will be no morning game drive today, allowing you time to relax and savor your last moments in the Mara. As we travel back, you’ll have one last chance to reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters and experiences you’ve had. We’ll drop you off in Nairobi by afternoon, where the Jossec Safaris team will ensure you have a smooth farewell. The price for this safari is per person, based on two people sharing a room with double occupancy. Prices vary depending on the season (low, high, or peak) and optional activities such as the hot air balloon safari.
